This is Connie’s second stint as President of
T.R.O.D. She also served from 1995-1998. After a life long passion
to own a horse, she met her cowboy and married into horses.
She and her husband Michael live in Warrenville and board several
horses with their own in their yard. (The yard is also shared
with chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats) Connie doesn’t own a
trailer so she is trilled to live along the Illinois Prairie
Path which is her connecting link to Forest Preserves with great
trails. Contact Connie Schmidt by e mail at twnstr111@msn.com
or 630-393-6276.

Carol has been on the TROD Board-of-Directors
and the Editor of the TROD Newsletter since 2000, except
for a brief time off in 2009 when her beloved Andalusian
horse, Crystal, died. Carol, pictured here on Matisse with

Peter's youngest daughter took up riding just before their move to the Midwest. Somehow, a horse was bought, the daughter discovered boys and Peter became a horse owner. When Oakbrook Hounds moved to Naperville, so did Peter’s horse. When Hunt members built new kennels and served champagne to all participants, Peter joined Hunt. After 20 years of fox hunting and serving as a charter member of Cornwall Hounds, and after holding several positions both as President and 1st Whipper-In, Peter started trail riding. In past 6 years Peter has become an avid horse camper. Peter runs a small engineering company and has been active on equestrian trail issues. Peter currently serves as board member of Horsemen’s Council of Illinois and Illinois Trail Riders. He is also the TROD liaison with the Forest Preserve.
Lori was born and raised in the western
suburbs, and has always loved horses. She started
riding lessons at age 11. Lori loves to drive the
mini horses and can be found volunteering at most
TROD functions and selling fun foods at fairs, parties
and college orientations. Lori is known to many
as the seller of TROD merchandise. Being a Forest
Preserve Volunteer, she has worked at Klein Creek
Farm for more than 10 years. Lori loves to take
care of little animals and has volunteered at Willowbrook
Wildlife Preserve. She is always interested in the
environment and along with being a member of the
Conservation Foundation, she is the treasurer of
(BRATS) Bikeable Roads and Trails.
